Why Old Time? is a
feature length documentary shot in 1080i HD about the unique
culture behind Old Time music. The story is told by the people
whose lives reflect their love this music and answers questions
like:
Why do people across the globe learn
Appalachian songs more than a century older than they are?
Why do they build their lives around festivals and fiddler's conventions?
Why do musicians know a dozen regional
variations on the same song?
This documentary explores and demonstrates
why people all across the globe care about this music and what makes
it an American treasure. It has already sold well in
pre-orders from our website with sales in 27 states as well as
England, France and Austrailia.
Release
Plans: Why Old Time? will be available via the web in
Spring 2009 (April 28 tentatively). We have also distributed
other titles through TNT Media which works with Wal-Mart,
Barnes and Noble,
Best Buy, and Borders Books,
to name a few. The film is also likely to see public
presentation at film festivals and independent theaters as well as
through PBS
broadcast.
